Today's Devotion: "Our God Who Dwells"
Drawing Near to God Through His Word
Scripture:
"And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day …"
– Genesis 3:8
Reflection:
From the beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. Before temples and tabernacles, there was a garden where God walked with humanity.
This reveals that relationship—not ritual—is central to God’s purpose.
Even after sin disrupted that fellowship, God continued to move toward His people—through covenant, sacred space, and ultimately through Christ.
The cross restores not only forgiveness, but the nearness of God.
For believers today—even in an online church—God’s presence is not limited by place.
He dwells within His people through the Spirit, uniting them across distance.
You are not seeking a distant God—you are responding to a God who has already drawn near.
Meditation:
Where have you felt distant from God? Scripture reminds us He is always drawing near.
What would change if you believed He is already moving toward you?
Take a quiet moment. Set aside distractions and invite Him to make His presence known.
A Closing Prayer:
Father,
Thank You for drawing near to us through Christ. Teach us to recognize Your presence in every moment.
Make our lives places of worship, and unite Your people across the world as one body in Your Spirit.
Walk with us today, in Jesus’ name – Amen.
Today's Encouragement:
You are not alone. The God who walked in the garden now walks with you.
